Walton Feed Order Update

Hello Everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!
I have an update on the Walton Feed order.
*All UPS/LTL orders have been shipped and most have already been received.

*The Ft. Meade Order will leave Walton Feed on a truck (not OUR truck! ) on Dec. 8th and be               delivered on December 11th or 12th. She said most likely the 11th...more info to come soon.

*Right after Christmas, our truck will leave Walton Feed with these orders on it:
      San Antonio, TX
      Niceville, FL
      High Springs, FL
      Bonifay, FL

*The rest of the orders will shortly follow. I will send more information the second I have it.

PLEASE READ THIS
Walton Feed was really wanting to get us our trucks before Christmas, but a MASSIVE order was turned in before ours - some organization ordered a huge amount of food to be sent to Africa, apparently for people in an area affected with Ebola. It literally wiped Walton Feed out of some of their products, and they are quickly trying to restock, but that can take weeks with some of their suppliers. But we are in line and on their schedule, and they will get us our orders as soon as they can.

Thanks for your patience. This is the nature of this order and how the food industry is. Sometimes it's hard to be patient when we are used to everything being instantaneously manufactured or shipped by Amazon Prime with a 2 day delivery! (I'm guilty of this for sure!) One time I had a lady furious that she did not get an organic grain that she ordered. She demanded that Walton Feed immediately ship it to her house! I tried my best to explain that the FARMER who grew the grain had no more to supply until the next harvest (which was a few weeks away), and she could not wrap her head around that. Let this be a good example to all of us of why it is so important to get our families and our homes prepared! The day may come when there are no crops to be harvested, or that trucks can't get to us. I don't usually get on this soap box, but I felt it's important to remember the reality of emergency situations, natural disasters, and other unpleasantries which can instantly change things as we know it! It's something to think about!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Melissa : )

Deadline Approaching for Walton Feed Group Order!

Hello Everyone!

Deadline Almost Here!
Just a reminder about the Walton Feed Group Order. The deadline is rapidly approaching. (Turn in orders to your group leader by October 15th, and group leaders turn them in to me by October 20th.) If you do not have a group leader or know who yours is, you are welcome to turn your order in to me if needed and I will add it to the appropriate group. Please be patient because it takes me a while to sift through all of the hundreds of emails. When I open your order and download it, I will send you a confirmation that I have it.

Payment
If you have a group leader - Most people turn their payments in to their group leader. Please follow the instructions you are given by your group leader concerning who to write the check to and when it needs to be turned in.

If you are sending payment to me - If you are sending orders and payments to me, please get your payments to me as soon as you can once you turn in the order....within a week or so. Mailing the check is just fine. Checks should be written to me and sent to Melissa Coombs 2009 Whiskery Ct. York, SC 29745. If you need to send a payment a little later for some reason, please contact me and I will gladly make a note.

If you want to pay by credit card - Credit card payments are accepted on orders over $200, but they are not preferred because I do not like to have access to credit card information. But if you are ok with that and would like to pay by credit card, please let me (or your group leader) know and I will call you for your payment info when I am ready to process those. I will safeguard the information and turn it in to Walton Feed and they will charge your card.

PayPal payments - I gladly accept PayPal payments, but you will need to have the funds come from your checking account or PayPal balance so I am not charged a fee. (You have the option to choose where the funds come from while making a payment.) If funds are generated from your debit or credit card, there is a 2.9% fee that you will need to pay. It will give you the option to pay the fee when you are making the payment so that I am not charged the fee. My PayPal email address is macoombs5@comporium.net. Be sure to make a note of your name and address so I can properly credit your payment.

My Top 10 Favorite Items from Walton Feed

The Fall Walton Feed order is open, and people are asking about my favorite products! So here is this post again!

People are always asking me what my favorite products are from Walton Feed, so here is my list! These are not in any particular order...I love them ALL!

1. Super Nutty Granola and French Almond Granola - Oh my goodness, both of these are delicious! I prefer the Super Nutty, and my children prefer the French Almond. Both are fabulous and we sell a lot of it on this order! Definitely worth trying!

2. Refried Beans - I buy these by the bucket or bulk bag! Last month we thought we had run out of these, and there was an uprising from the children..literally! I bought some canned refried beans from the store to get us by until the next order, and the kids thought they were so disgusting! Thankfully a few weeks later I found a bucket stashed in a closet and the kids chowed down again. All you have to do is add water and bring it to a boil and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. It has the best flavor!

3. Freeze Dried Pineapple - Have you ever tasted this? Yum, yum and yum! You have got to try these! They are amazing. You can rehydrate them and use them in any recipe calling for pineapple, but I like to munch on them right out of the can! They taste just like fresh pineapple, and have no preservatives! It's a healthy snack! I really love the strawberries and peach slices too! AMAZING fresh tasting fruits!

4. Creamy Honey - This is probably the most loved product on this Walton Feed order. I have people call me up and beg for more because they have run out. I have never tasted anything like it. It's the best honey ever....that pretty much sums it up. If you cannot afford to buy a whole case, find someone to split it with you. You will be happy you did!

5. Ova Easy Eggs - These are the best egg product on the market! They are quite expensive, but worth having them in your storage. I actually use these all the time. I use these when I make my famous cinnamon rolls. You can use these in baking or cooking and will not be able to tell the difference from using fresh eggs. I use them in pancakes, muffins, rolls, cakes, cookies, pies, etc. And I have even scrambled them with some bacon bits and put some cheese on them, and my kids gobbled them up in breakfast burritos. Veggie omelets are amazing too! You can use them to make bacon, egg and cheese biscuits and no one will ever know! No more emergency trips to the store because you need eggs to make something.

6. Freeze Dried Corn - Love, love love this corn! We like to snack on it right out of the can! It's so sweet! With all of the worries over the toxins in canned food (not to mention excessive sodium, etc.), I will not buy canned corn anymore. I love that freeze dried food has no preservatives or additives or even salt. This is just plain CORN! I use this for all of my recipes that have corn in it. Healthy and delicious! PS - freeze dried broccoli is another favorite!

7. White Flour - I'm not sure where they get their flour, but it's the best I have ever baked with. I cannot find anything in the store that compares to it. It is so soft and silky. I have used the All Purpose Flour, the Bakers Flour, and the Unbleached Flour. It's all wonderful!

8. Chicken Bouillon - What I love the most about this chicken bouillon is that it contains no MSG! It is in a fine granular form and it doesn't take much of this to season your recipe. It has a very nice flavor. I use it in so many recipes! You might want to get this in a small can because it will take a very long time to get through a #10 can of this!

9. Bakon Crumbles - I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein), which is a soy product. But I happen to really like Bakon Crumbles. You are probably familiar with "bacos", which is TVP. Bacos are hard and crunchy, but Bakon Crumbles are much softer, more like real bacon. I use them in eggs, soup, as a topper for baked potatoes, salads, etc. One good thing about TVP is that it really is a good alternative to meat because it is much cheaper and can be healthier. I also use the Taco TVP and the Beef TVP, but I usually use them with ground beef.

10. Basmati Brown Rice - I'm not very knowledgeable about different kinds of rice, but I do know that this one tastes wonderful! It's like a sticky rice, which I love - but it is a whole grain rice and is healthier for you. My children will eat Basmati rice happily, where they are not crazy over regular long grain brown rice. This is definitely my favorite whole grain rice!

OK - one more...

11. White Wheat - I can't forget white wheat! I use more of this than anything else I get from Walton Feed. I grind it fresh almost every day and use it when making pancakes, cookies, breads, rolls, muffins, and whatever! White wheat cooks up a little lighter in color, taste and texture than red wheat, and most people will like it, even if they think they are not crazy over whole wheat products.

I have compared Walton Feed's white wheat to white wheat from other companies, and I have found Walton Feed's to be superior. Once I called a company and ordered a sample of their white wheat, and when I got it, I poured it on a paper plate. Then I put some of Walton Feed's wheat on another paper plate. I was shocked at what I saw! The sample I ordered had several pieces of stems, hulls and weed seeds in it. It also had lots of "inferior" wheat kernels - they were small and misformed, and some were even black. I was surprised they had actually sent me such terrible looking wheat as a sample. Walton Feed's wheat was beautiful and clean, and it made me happy since I had MANY buckets of their wheat stored!

So that's my quick list of favorites! What are yours?

Here are favorites that some of you have told me:
Quinoa
Freeze Dried Strawberries
Ezekiel Mix
Buttermilk Pancake Mix
Hot Cocoa Mix
6 Grain Rolled Cereal
Pearled Barley
Orange Drink Mix
Alfalfa Seeds for Sprouting
Natural Real Salt
Honey Powder
Molasses Powder
Gamma Lids
SAF Instant Yeast

Refunds and Next Order Dates

Hello everyone!

FALL ORDER
Thanks for all of the kindness and patience as we have done this Walton Feed order. The final truck will soon ship and we will wrap up this order. We will start the FALL order in August and call it due sometime late September or early October. These date are tentative right now. I want to do it a little earlier so we can get our trucks delivered before the Holidays and before bad weather hits (for those more north!)

REFUNDS
I will start processing any needed refunds this weekend. Please remember that I do this order in my "spare time", and unfortunately there has been a shortage of that in my life lately. : )

I am receiving many emails that say something like, "We were missing the Quinoa." Please make it easy for me to process these refunds by giving me accurate and complete information all in ONE email!. : ) If I receive 5 emails from you with pieces and parts of your refund information, I can promise your refund will be one of the last ones that gets taken care of because it will take lots of time for me to decipher it and make sure it's all accurate. Please be patient and clear in your communication, and I will have these refunds mailed by early next week. Also, I only respond to refund emails that come from GROUP LEADERS. It's too confusing to hear from the group leader and several individuals all reporting the same refunds needed. Group Leaders need to let me know if any items were missing from a delivery.

Please list anything that was missing, anything that you received extra, the amount owed to you, and an address and name for the check to be sent.

Thanks so much! I hope all of you are having a wonderful summer so far!

Please let me know if you have any questions!

DEADLINE
The Official Deadline for people to turn in their order to their Group Leader is April 5th. Group Leaders need to have their order to me by April 12th.

HOWEVER, I know that I will not be available much from April 8-13th, so just make sure that I have your order in my inbox by Monday April 14th bright and early! That is when I will be working on the order. If you do not know who your group leader is, just email me your order at macoombs5@comporium.net.

PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR THE PRICE LIST IF YOU NEED IT!

PAYMENT

Checks, credit/debit cards and PayPal are all accepted. Please get me your order by the deadline date and then mail me your check, or arrange to pay another way. You will need to let me know if you want to pay by credit card when you turn in your order, and I will call you for cc information when I am ready to process those payments.

DELIVERY
We will have delivery locations all over the east coast, and in other places across the country too! But those locations will not be determined until all of the orders come in and we see which orders/areas qualify for their own delivery. If you turn in an order as an individual (meaning not with a group already), I will assign you to a group leader/delivery location and give you all needed information.

Most likely we will receive our first truck in late May, and continue to receive trucks every few weeks until all have been delivered. I will not know a delivery schedule until all trucks have been routed and scheduled by Walton Feed. As soon as I know the schedule, it will be posted on this blog, and emailed out to all Group Leaders. Make sure you put your email address in the box above that says FOLLOW BY EMAIL. You will automatically receive an email with anything I post about the order and delivery. Please do not email me every week and ask if I know the schedule! :) I promise that I will not keep the information a secret...I will post it the very minute that I know it! And I realize that people go on vacations during the summer...don't worry - you will get plenty of notice about your particular delivery schedule. If it happens to be during the time you are going to be on vacation, you will have time to make arrangements for a friend to help you out. In the past 15 years of doing this order, everyone's little issues have always worked out! :) People are always so kind and helpful to one another....that's one reason I love doing these orders! It's nice to work with such wonderful people!

SPREAD THE WORD

There are so many people buzzing about food storage and really wanting to do an order, would you please try to email it out to anyone who might be interested, and let people know about it? Feel free to share it with neighbors, friends, family, church groups, homeschool groups, etc. With all that is happening in the world, it's a good time to make sure we have our food storage and supplies in order. Thanks for all you do to help others and be prepared! I know that we are blessed as we serve each other!
